Russell Brand Informed Katy Perry of Divorce by Text

Katy Perry admits she hasn't heard from ex-husband Russell Brand since he texted her saying he wanted a divorce.
Irreconcilable differences, indeed. Nearly one year after their divorce was finalized, Katy Perry is opening up about what went wrong in her 14-month marriage to Russell Brand. In an interview with Vogue's Vicki Woods for the July cover, the "Wide Awake" singer, 28, slams her ex-husband and says they haven't kept in touch -- and that he told her about his plans to divorce via text message.
"He's a very smart man, and I was in love with him when I married him," Perry says. "Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011."
Perry and Brand, 38, married in October 2010, after meeting at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Though Brand was the one to file for divorce, Perry said the British comic's sense of humor was losing its charm on her before then.
"[He's] hysterical in some ways. Until he started making jokes about me and he didn't know I was in the audience, because I had come to surprise him at one of his shows," she tells Vogue. "I mean, I have to claim my own responsibility in things. I do admit that I was on the road a lot. Although I invited him time and time again, and I tried to come home as much as I possibly could. You saw that in the movie [Katy Perry: Part of Me]. That wasn't edited to leave footage out—there wasn't any footage of him."
The "Part of Me" singer also claims that the actor couldn't "handle" her being his "equal."
"He didn't like the atmosphere of me being the boss on tour. So that was really hurtful, and it was very controlling, which was upsetting," she reveals. "I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can't necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day. I let go and I was like: This isn't because of me; this is beyond me. So, I have moved on from that."

Maybe he thought the phrase "sell your soul to the devil" was a bs metaphor until he realized you actually sold yours, Katherine, dear.

I always felt their marriage was just a PR stunt anyway. I never got a "true couple" vibe from them.

Yes, Katy has said out of her own mouth that she sold her soul. NOt sure who says that, not even a joke...

Katy Perry's own father called her a devil child. I believe he's a minister or something. Her own family knows she sold her soul. What a shame! is fame really that important? Her and russel looked off together and I never understand that relationship. He's a really strange dude and quirky as hell--not the marrying kind. Maybe she was attracted to his weirdness with her goofy ass.

Look at his dead, vacant eyes-he sold his soul too!
