Jusitn Bieber Charged with Defacing Property in Rio

Justin Bieber officially charged with defacing property in Brazil.
Justin Bieber has once again stepped in a bit of trouble while on his wild world tour.
Following a bad trip to the U.K. in March and controversy in Amsterdam in April, the singer is in Brazil, where police are charging him for "defacing a building or urban monument by graffiti or other means," according to a statement from cops in Rio de Janeiro.
Bieber, 19, apparently had permission from the city to paint on a graffiti wall in Rio's Olympic Village, the Morro do Vidigal. Butaccording to RollingStone.com, he chose to tag a wall on a nearby hotel to avoid his local fans.
"Authorization granted by the city did not extend to other locations," the statement from police says.
The punishment for defacing a building in Brazil could be a fine or up to one year in prison, though police called the pop star's graffiti a minor offense.
A rep for Bieber did not respond to requests for comment.
Adds a source, "It must have been some misunderstanding. He was lead to believe it was fine."
