Lorde Calls David Guetta Gross

New Zealand pop star Lorde slams David Guetta branding the super producer gross.
Most up-and-coming artists trying to make it in the music biz would gladly sell what little of their soul is left to nab a spot on a David Guetta album. After all, he's produced Top 10 hits for Nicki Minaj, Sia and Usher—and that's in the U.S. alone, a market that's just warming up to EDM.
But Lorde is no ordinary artist. A lengthy profile of the 16-year-old "Royals" singer revealed she unequivocally turned down a request from Guetta to appear on his next album. "No. F—k no," Lorde said, according to FasterLouder. "He's so gross."
Double shocker: Although the interview was recently published, the quote in question pre-dates the crossover success of "Royals." That means even before she was on top of the world at age 16, Lorde was certain enough of her artistic vision to turn down a major opportunity to expand her audience.
So what exactly makes Guetta gross: His music or his personality? Perhaps she was creeped out by this lyric from Guetta's "Sexy B-tch" collabo with Akon: "She's nothing like a girl you've ever seen before / Nothing you can compare to your neighborhood whore."
Anyway, the profile wasn't entirely negative—she also name-checked a hitmaking producer when asked who her dream collaborator would be: "I'm leaning toward Diplo," Lorde told the FasterLouder journalist.
Whether that collaboration will come to fruition remains to be seen, but one thing is sure—we won't be hearing a Guetta remix of "Royals" any time soon.
