Adele Smashes Digital Sales Records

Adele's smash hit second album '21' just passed a ground breaking digital milestone.
Adele has practically been in hiding for more than a year but the iconic singer still has the ability to break records with her smash hit second album '21' becoming the first to pass the three million sales mark digitally.
The 25-year-old, who has taken a step back from the spotlight since giving birth to son Angelo in October 2012, released the critically-acclaimed album in 2011 and it quickly topped charts around the world becoming the best-selling album of the 21st century following the popularity of the singles 'Rolling In The Deep,' 'Someone Like You' and 'Set Fire To The Rain.'
While it may have been released three years ago, '21' is still maintaining its firm grip on sales and has become the first album to sell three million copies through downloads with a rep from Nielsen SoundScan confirmed to Rolling Stone.
The album has sold more than 28 million copies worldwide and has been certified platinum an incredible 16 times in the UK.
After a lengthy hiatus, Adele could be making a reappearance soon with producer William Orbit, who has has created hits for the likes of Madonna and Britney Spears, revealing he'll be working with the Brit singer in the New Year.
“I know I’ll be doing some writing with Adele in the new year,” Orbit told PRS M Magazine in November.

Lol 3 million digital sells is a big deal? The music industry has fallen off. I know Adele is the first to do it so congrats to her, but I guess long gone are the days when artist like MJ would sell 100 million albums

Congratulations, but I can't help but feel there's some numbers doctoring going on behind the scenes. I think TPTB are trying to make it so '21' trumps 'Thriller' as the best selling album of all time.

I think people need to get it right. WilliamOrbit was a no one when Madonna found him. William Orbit didn't do anything for Madonna that Madonna didn't demand he do when she found him. He may have created a hit for Britney but Madonna made William Orbit.

Wonderful Adele continues to show what a true iconic artist is. No gimmicks, just straight talent. Beyonce wishes she could reach that level without trickery.

Jason, be quiet. The piece didn't throw shade or say anything incorrect. It simply stated that William had created hits for Madonna and other artists, You stans are an obsessed and over sensitive mess.
