Rachel Roy Fashion Line Facing Change of Hands

The owners of the parent company of Rachel Roy's Fashion line looking to cut ties.
Rachel Roy’s fashion line could see a change of ownership.
Jones New York, which owns 50 percent of her brand, was recently sold for $2.2 billion to investment group Sycamore Partners, which we are told is seeking to unload her company.
WWD reported that Bluestar Alliance, whose investments include Catherine Malandrino, is a front-runner to take over Roy’s brand.
She launched her line in 2005 with her ex Damon Dash.
But last year she moved her operations to Los Angeles, and calls to the number listed on her company’s Web site are now being answered by the Visiting Nurse Service of New York.
Reps for Roy, who was this week spotted out in town with Kim Kardashian, didn’t get back to us.

I think her line was struggling from the day it was first launched.

Moving operations to LA was a huge mistake
