Jennifer Lopez' Bronx Concert Flops

Fans stay away from Jennifer Lopez' free homecoming concert in the Bronx.

She may be Jenny from the Block — but The Bronx wasn’t about Jenny
According to the New York Post, about half of the 25,000 people who received free tickets actually showed up to Jennifer Lopez’s first-ever show in the Bronx because they think she’s no longer one of them:
“She’s been making all this money on Castle Hill but she doesn’t even help out the neighborhood,” said Matthew ¬McNally. “Most of the people I know think she’s a sellout.”
“Musically, she’s very talented, but I don’t think she’s done enough for the community,” added Justin McGinn of Throggs Neck.
“I wanted to see what the show was like, but a lot of people I talked to don’t like her or want anything to do with her,” McGinn said. “They feel like she’s a sellout and she took too long to come back.”
Producers said 25,000 free tickets were issued for the concert, but well under half the expected number of fans showed up and there were few traffic problems around Orchard Beach.
“I wanted to see what the show was like, but a lot of people I talked to don’t like her or want anything to do with her,” McGinn said.
“They feel like she’s a sellout and she took too long to come back.”
JLo probably didn’t help things by laying it on as thick as she did.
The Post says that at one point in the show, she rounded up her dancers and “perched on a set of stairs and sang a cappella, as if they were sitting on a neighborhood stoop.
“This is how we used to do it in The Bronx,” she said from under a giant lighting rig.

Well, it IS 2014, not 1999 or 2000, when she was really hot, career-wise. She was never known for being a singer, anyway, hence all the flop albums, and she's in her 40s now, so the younger generation either doesn't know who she is, or thinks she's a has-been.

This fake "I'm still urban Jenny from the block when it's convenient" ass trick gets on my nerves.

I agree with the above comment. Why did she wait so long to come home? Jenny left the block and never looked back.
