Logic Admits Mom Called Him the N-Word

Biracial rapper Logic admits his white mother called him the n-word and tried to choke him to death when he was a child.

Now that Logic has a major-label rap debut on the horizon, things are starting to look up for the 24-year old MC. But things weren’t always so sunny. Young Sinatra, as Logic affectionately refers to himself, has had to overcome a lot.
“People look at me like, ‘He’s from the suburbs and he was raised rich, and mommy and daddy pay for everything,’ ” Logic told Complex.com. “Man, get the f–k out of here. Growing up [in Maryland], there were guns in the house, my brothers were out selling crack. I grew up on Section 8 housing, food stamps, welfare and dealing with social services. I never had a Christmas, I never had a birthday.”
Looking at Logic, it can be easy to place him in a stereotypical “white rapper” box, but the Maryland native was born to a white mother and black father and has a story that’s more 50 Cent than Asher Roth.
“My mother was a good woman,” he said in the interview, which was published online late last week. “But she went through a hell of a lot of sh– from drugs, prostitution — all types of sh– — it f–ked her mind up.
“My mother got stabbed, she was raped, she tried to choke me to death as a child,” he continued. “I can’t even begin to explain the tormenting feeling of living in my household: constant screaming, death-curdling screams, arguments between my mom and other men, her getting her f–king ass-whooped. At times, there was blood all over the kitchen and f–king floor.”
Then there was the racism that Logic experienced. “It’s so hard to wrap your head around that and the fact that my own mother would call me a n—-r as a child. I’m not talking about ‘What’s up, my n—a,’ I’m talking in a fully prejudiced way. Here’s a woman who wants to sleep with a black man and makes babies and wants to be racist towards them. It’s extremely hard to grasp.”
The rapper’s relationship with his dad wasn’t much better. Growing up, Logic watched his dad battle a terrible drug addiction and he tells those stories in his rhymes.
“My father has called me and been like, ‘I don’t really appreciate you talking about me smoking crack all the time,’ ” Logic revealed. “I’m like, ‘Would you appreciate it if I didn’t say anything and induced those same drugs into my body to try to get over what you put me through? Or would you rather me do it in a positive way?’”
Logic doesn’t have a release date set for his still-untitled album, but in May, he sat down with MTV News and revealed that he recorded the whole thing in two weeks. “It took two weeks to record the majority of the album,” he told us. “Don’t get me wrong — years went into it; there’s concepts and things that were around long before.”

Actually Niyabinghi, black folks are listening...great hip-hop greats like NaS are blessing this kid already. At first, I was like this is wack shit, but then I took it upon myself to research the kid and just finished listening to his joing called "Sinatra III" sample from NaS's "Life's A Bitch" from the Illmatic Album and the kid has got skills. I am tired of wack ass wrappers like Drake making shit like "Started from the Bottom" when mother fucker grew up in a upper class part of Canada...WTF! This kid can honestly relate to real issues in the rap game and I've changed my mind about him so far. I hope he doesn't lose his hunger, talent and get fucked up like a lot of these wankster ass rappers!! #NvrJudgeABkByItsCover

@BKChick
I hear what your saying, I'm still not endorsing this fool, NAS is a fucking sellout like all the rest, this has nothing to do with black and white, simply raw talent there is an agenda to gentrify black music, and I'm so fucking tired of the culture vultures coming in under they been blessed by so and so, just cause so and so blessed them don't mean the collective is going to, just like TI aka kermit the frog brought that no talent wack ass albino kangaroo bitch, who got some black rapper rapping while she lip synch and pretend to be a southern rapper. I'm looking at this shit with my 3rd eye wide open and I'm not impressed with nan of these fools, and yes Drake is fucking wack this is the disgrace of "music" today. they need to put the final nail in its coffin, till real raw talent is brought to the forefront without the smoke and mirrors and the fake street cred tugging at the black folk heart strings mess ugh!!! NAS sold out a long time ago none of these industry niggas are to be trusted. think about why does it take a black man to bring a yt through the door? these muthafukkas like usher and all the rest of them quislings stay trying to bring this "new wave of blond hair blue eyed soul" through the door. they have been trying to find their next enmen of however you spell that shit, and I was not impressed with him either, they lack soul anyone can mimic, but you have to feel that shit on a soul level, you can't fake soul you either have it or you don't. I'm tired of the fakes being blessed by the so called ghetto prophets.

(((CHURCH)))....(((PREACH))). Yes you are right about NaS and them. I can't even front no more. And T.I. and stupid ass Aussie fake ass bitch too....The FemCee game is crap! It's been that way since MC Lyte as far as I am concerned!!!! As long as Record (White) and Sell Black Music Executives control the industry to put who the fuck they want on, the game will continue to be phucked up! #StayTrueToOl'Skool
