THAT lift fight between Beyonce's sister Solange and Jay Z was over Rihanna, it has been claimed.

And now, a source close to the power couple has told Page Six that the elevator fight was over Rihanna, who he repo9rtedly planned to meet later that night.
“Solange was like, ‘Enough is enough — you must be [screwing] Rihanna,’” says the source. “To many people who know them, they know it’s not out of the realm of possibility.”
Following lift-gate, Beyonce and her rapper hubby Jay Z were doused with infidelity rumours, and embarked on a course of marriage counselling.
And despite their constant PDA-ing , playing happy families on Instagram and other desperate attempts to quash the split rumours that have dogged them, it seems their 12-year relationship may finally be crumbling.
The source said that things have been bad between the pair for quite some time.
“There’s still something there, even though it’s not going to last,” says the source. “Business is always part of the equation. They know they’re the king and queen of hip-hop — and really, all of music. Neither wants to lose that.”
The pair got together way back in 2003. Jay Z was infatuated with Beyoncé. He knew he could do big things for her, and together they could be a huge power force in the music industry.
“There’s no bigger controller than Jay,” the source says. “She’s great, but she’d be a little lower on the totem pole if it weren’t for hooking up with him.”
Over the past decade, the pair have become one of the most iconic couples to have ever graced the music industry.
Now they are so high-brow, they have to be very careful about the way they live their lives.
The source says the duo change their cell-phone numbers every two weeks, and admits that even Beyonce's sister Solange needs to get clearance before she can pop round to visit her sis.
According to the source, the power couple shunned Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s wedding because it was too low-rent for their brand.
“They are guarding like hell their status,” the source says. “Beyoncé wasn’t going to allow a Kardashian to socially climb her.
"And Jay didn’t want Kanye with Kim — he thinks it’s bad for business. I think Jay lost a little respect for Kanye there.”
Over the past few months, the couple have drifted further and further apart. The only time they spend together now is on stage.
"It’s not whether they’ll split, but how they’ll split," the source says.
“They are business people first, entertainers second. Husband and wife comes somewhere down the line.”
