Casey Kasem May Be Buried in Norway

Family memeber fear Casey Kasem's body has been spirited off to Norway by his wife Jean.

American rock n' roll icon Casey Kasem may be laid to rest more than 5,000 miles from his home.
Kasem's body is en route to be buried in Oslo, Norway, a government official told the country's VG newspaper. The move continues the family feud between the "America's Top 40" host's wife of 34 years, Jean, and his children that plagued the last few years of Kasem's life.
The TV and radio icon died at the age of 82 on June 15 at St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor, Wash. -- two weeks after being removed from his wife's custody while in critical condition with an infected bedsore.
For months earlier, Kerri Kasem, Casey's eldest daughter from a previous marriage, had been mired in a legal battle with her stepmother over visitation rights to see her father.
Jean Kasem, 60, reportedly petitioned the Norwegian government for burial permission, claiming she has ancestral ties to the country. However, her own nephew disputes that assertion.
"As far as we know, we are English, German and Native American," Tommy Thompson said in a statement released by Kerri Kasem's rep. "We have never ever heard anyone speak of Norway or Norwegian for that matter in our house. We don't have an ounce of Norwegian blood to our knowledge."
