Rihanna's Navy are upset with their captain for releasing songs exclusively to the TIDAL streaming service.
Tidal wave of anger
Rihanna fans’ fury at move to streaming service
RIHANNA’s fans have slammed the star for sharing her new music exclusively on Jay Z’s new streaming service Tidal. The platform is the only place followers can see the video for her new track American Oxygen — but the move has not gone down well.
The most popular comment beneath a link to the song on her official Facebook page reads: “And then no one listened to Rihanna again because she’s only available on the streaming service for the 1%”
Another expressed their anger in full capitals, writing: “NO WAY IN HELL I WILL GET IT FROM TIDAL!! Y’LL SCREWING OVER FANS!!! IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MUSIC AND THE LOVE FOR IT IT’S ALL MONEY”
Tidal was launched last week by millionaire rapper Jay Z and was backed by stars including RiRi, Taylor Swift, Calvin Harris, Coldplay and Kanye West.
The service lets fans stream higher-quality music and provides exclusive songs like Rihanna’s before they appear elsewhere. But it costs twice as much as its main rival Spotify.
Beyonce has joined Rihanna in releasing exclusive music on the site and unveiled her new track Die With You via Tidal last weekend.
Yesterday, Jay Z removed his debut album Reasonable Doubt from Spotify, increasing speculation that he will soon take down his entire back catalogue.Jacked The Sun
