Jared Leto and Lupita Nyong'o Romance in The Works?

Sources claim Ocsar nominees Jared Leto and Lupita Nyong'o may have made a love connection.

An Oscar romance is blossoming between fellow awards nominees Lupita Nyong’o and Jared Leto.

The pair, who are up for Best Supporting Actress and Actor, were spotted alone together at a table at the intimate Crosby Street Hotel early Wednesday evening.

They were cozying up between attending numerous Fashion Week shows and events, and according to a witness, “They were huddled at a corner table together looking very close.”

Another source said Nyong’o was staying at the Soho hotel for a night after flying into town from LA for Calvin Klein’s fashion show.

There have been whispers during Hollywood’s awards season about the off-screen chemistry between Leto and Nyong’o. The two have stayed close together at the Golden Globes and other events leading up to the March 2 Oscars. They even appear side-by-side on the cover of Vanity Fair’s Hollywood issue with Julia Roberts and George Clooney.

The afternoon after meeting with Leto, Nyong’o made a splash at Fashion Week, where she sat between Anna Wintour and Naomi Watts at Francisco Costa’s Calvin Klein show at Spring Studios. Nyong’o also currently graces the cover of New York magazine’s spring fashion issue and W magazine’s movies issue. Leto was spotted at a show by designer Jeremy Scott.

Both actors are nominated for their work in issue-oriented films. Leto plays a transgendered role in the AIDS drama “Dallas Buyers Club,” while Nyong’o is the breakout star of “12 Years a Slave,” as the obsession of a demonic slaver played by Michael Fassbender.

Meantime, sources said Nyong’o had an on-set romance with her co-star Chiwetel Ejiofor while they were filming the drama for Brit director Steve McQueen. But we’re told the love match fizzled once the movie wrapped. Leto has previously been linked to Cameron Diaz. He landed in Paris Thursday and tweeted, “Going on a jetlag powered run.” Reps for Nyong’o and Leto didn’t comment on their cozy meeting.
